Flute Masterclass with Matt Ross

The Oyster Bay Music Festival will be hosting a free flute masterclass with Matt Ross, flutist with the National Symphony Orchestra. Matt has appeared with the Baltimore Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony and Dayton Philharmonic, was principal flute at the Bard Music Festival, and was a fellow at the National Music Festival. As a soloist, he has earned prizes in young artists competitions across the country and in 2012 was named a Yamaha Young Performing Artist. He is also an alum of Smithtown East High School.

Huntington Summer Arts Festival Presents Oyster Bay Music Festival Emerging All Stars

Huntington Summer Arts Festival, produced by Town of Huntington @townofhuntington, presented by Huntington Arts Council presents Chamber Music – Oyster Bay Music Festival Emerging All Stars Rieko Tsuchida & Maximilian Morel.

Rieko Tsuchida. Since making her Carnegie Hall debut in 2011, prize-winning pianist Rieko Tsuchida has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Ms. Tsuchida made her professional concerto debut in 2011 performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the California Symphony. She has also performed as a soloist with the Ashdod Symphonic Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, and San Domenico Orchestra. Her many prizes include the SONY USA Foundation Grant in 2016 from the Salon de Virtuosi, YoungArts NFAA Finalist, and 3rd Prize in the IIYM International Piano Competition.

Ms. Tsuchida earned her Bachelor of Music Degree at the Peabody Conservatory under the tutelage of Boris Slutsky. She completed her Master of Music Degree at The Juilliard School in the studios of Dr. Matti Raekallio and Joseph Kalichstein.

Maximilian Morel. Since first coming to New York City in 2011 to pursue his studies, Parisian native Maximilian Morel has regularly performed as a soloist, contemporary, orchestral, and baroque trumpeter in various venues throughout the world. Noteworthy performances include regular appearances as a soloist in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 with Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Mass in B minor under the direction of Masaaki Suzuki, and international tours with Orpheus Chamber orchestra.

As a freelance musician, Mr. Morel has been a frequent guest of many ensembles such as Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and ProMusica.

Mr. Morel is an international prize winner of major trumpet competitions, is a faculty member in the Ear-Training and Music Theory departments of the Juilliard School’s Extension and Pre-College divisions.

The Oyster Bay Music Festival presents a week-long, performance intensive program for highly gifted music students in a festival setting each summer. We are pleased to introduce several of these exceptional talents in a special L.I. Spotlight Chamber Music concert. This is a unique opportunity to experience superbly talented emerging All-Stars!
